PE and Sports Mentoring For Keiran

Keiran struggled at school. He presented with aggressive and dangerous behaviours, resulting in having had multiple Fixed Term Exclusions. Keiran was unable to regulate his emotions.

Using the positive working relationship we built, we used sport as a reward, discussing behaviours that were expected of him.

His confidence grew and he began attending phonics in class every day with his tutor. We supported Keiran to regulate his anger and emotions. He settled back into school routines and his mind set changed, he thought of school as a positive environment where learning can be fun.

“I like the space, it feels big. When I’m at Oak I feel calm and focused”.
